Shall I

Posted by P J W Miller (Chase Terrace, United Kingdom) on 30 April 2009 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

In this image, my wife is contemplating leaving one of the many rooms at Buildwas Abbey, does she leave the relative comfort of the room or venture into the unknown.

The stone floor almost reminds me of the surface of the Moon as seen through a telescope from Earth

Me and my camera(s) will travel both locally and as far as is physically allowable within the constraints of this our local celestial body and provide images from a purely subjective point of view for your evaluation and commentation .

I love it in B&W. It gives to it some kind mystic tone. Contrasts are big and black color is not releaving what there is inside, but also is maintainning the imagination wakeful.

Peter, yesterday's was very good but this, I think, is an exceptional image. The textures and deep blacks really work for me, the hand against the wall gives the feeling of hesitation. Top banana :)

Definately!, there is something about the distance between you, as the photographer (not as a husband lol) and your wife in this photograph, that makes me want to shout, "get out quick" it has a real suspense thriller feel to it, almost as if she hesitates too long, what ever is in the darkness will catch up with her.
I hope you get what I mean :)

Great b&w. The mood created here is very eerie. You have to wonder what is going to happen. What is in the shadows? Well done.

wonderfully done Pete。can't really see anything bad in this photo, everything is in place。the dark spaces surrounding the photo complements the loneliness that can be felt from the person who looks like contemplating。just beautiful。

good work peter.
This works better for me than yesterday. Today, I am drawn in by the perspective and DOF, together with the great tone. yesterday, while I have nothing against the colours or the particular duo tone, the green was a distraction.

A great creative shot Pete.... I like the fact that it's black, except for the center of the image. The Moon....?

Natural framing is so spot-on, would look go in a big black frame to continue the surrounding background.
