Meanwhile, Back At the Abbey

Posted by P J W Miller (Chase Terrace, United Kingdom) on 4 May 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio.

I have posted several shots of Buildwas Abbey, mainly dark, almost demonic images, i thought I would give you a little more insight into this wonderful old ruined building

Me and my camera(s) will travel both locally and as far as is physically allowable within the constraints of this our local celestial body and provide images from a purely subjective point of view for your evaluation and commentation .

Locally based near Lichfield

If you have the time I would appreciate constructive comments please and in return for your honesty my comments on your work will also be constructive.

A brief message to all the brothers and sisters of AM3 and other photographic blog sites. It is a great feeling to get so many warm and constructive comments from all of you all over the world , it is good to be able to communicate in a friendly manner with no hint of racism, sexism or other ism's. It is good to be able to see what lies in your part of the world and to be able to give constructive comments on your work.

Great choice of framing for this powerful scene. For my taste, the HDR treatment is a bit too obvious (i like it subtle ;) ) to look realistic, but the resulting surreal effect has something about it as well :)

This is the kind of thing that makes me green with envy that people get to live near such history. I love the way you set this up, so that if you can just mentally fill in the blanks, you have a good idea what it was like centuries ago, with a roof and flooring instead of sky and grass. Lovely.
