HopePosted by P J W Miller (Chase Terrace, United Kingdom) on 7 May 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio. When I was walking around the abbey I could not help but notice at various places there were plants growing on the near soil naked stonework. It made me think of hope. The post treatment to get the looming stormy skies made this all the more relevant to me. Me and my camera(s) will travel both locally and as far as is physically allowable within the constraints of this our local celestial body and provide images from a purely subjective point of view for your evaluation and commentation . Locally based near Lichfield If you have the time I would appreciate constructive comments please and in return for your honesty my comments on your work will also be constructive. A brief message to all the brothers and sisters of AM3 and other photographic blog sites. It is a great feeling to get so many warm and constructive comments from all of you all over the world , it is good to be able to communicate in a friendly manner with no hint of racism, sexism or other ism's. It is good to be able to see what lies in your part of the world and to be able to give constructive comments on your work.

A little bit more blur in the background woudl be nice. I think the background should be sharp or completly in blur but not only a little bit :-) 7 May 2009 8:26am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery beautiful composition. I like very much the background of old stones and clouy sky, and these beautiful flowers in the foreground, very sharp and intense colored. 7 May 2009 10:08am Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, CanadaComposed well, processed wonderfully. The splash of yellow from the flowers really adds emotion to this shot. I like the massive stone work and the plant growing out of what appears to be "nothing" combine to make a very effective image. 7 May 2009 3:01pm B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesWow, great composition, dramatic sky, perspective leading the eye to the distance, and a nice flower in the foreground. You rock on this one! 7 May 2009 3:29pm Ajay from Pune, IndiaExceptionally beautiful composition. An old structure, flower growing out of a rock and a stormy sky are very well placed in the frame. 7 May 2009 3:35pm Ted from South Wales, United KingdomThis is a super shot...but mischievously, I have an image of you walking around like Morrisey (showing my age) with a bunch of wallflowers in your back pocket waiting to strike! 7 May 2009 4:40pm Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaA wonderful image on all counts..LOVE the flower and it's title role:) 7 May 2009 5:46pm jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesWell done image. I found a similar example at Tintern Abbey. 7 May 2009 10:51pm DarkElf from Perth, Australiathis is one of my favourites yet! wonderful composition and quite a telling contrast and story captured here! the fresh flowers against a decaying structure are a fine way of conveying hope as you have titled this photo! the focus on the flowers is perfectly justified and it works magnificently! 8 May 2009 7:13am aneesh from Indiau cannot ran away from this picture. jst be there n love it. cool capture and framing cheers 8 May 2009 6:47pm Cricket from Alabama, United StatesVery mystical feeling to this image.
