Ely Cathedral

Posted by
P J W Miller (Chase Terrace, United Kingdom) on 18 October 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio.

Not much to look at from the outside but magnificent on the inside, cost me a tenner (£10.00) though which I think is a little bit of a rip off especially when there are two of you. They say it is a voluntary fee, it's not, you don't pay you don't play.

Your honest opinion is welcomed thank you and in return you shall have mine.

I'm here on

Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, India

Nicely framed and the B/W treatment emphasises the structural elements of the design

Great use of the short lens and perfect b&w processing. I hate paying to see the inside of churches too, York Minster is now operating the same policy.

I have also contributed an number of voluntary "donations" to see some museums and buildings... I felt as if I were going to be forced "up against the wall" if I didn't. It is beautiful inside and I like the treatment.

You have really captured the magnificence of this architecture!!!

A very powerful image, and an impressive view of the structure. £10 is daylight robbery, Chester cathedral ask's only a donation.

Lovely choice of processing on this image. The softness tones down any hard edges. Very nice.

Impressive, both the building and image. I'm glad you've showed it us because you're right, a tenner is a rip off and I don't think I'd pay it!
