Grafham Water

Posted by
P J W Miller (Chase Terrace, United Kingdom) on 28 October 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is a reservoir but please don't drink the water or go near the edge, that was the warning, the green colour of the water is caused by some algae in the water, it looks nuclear to me.

I got low down for this one to get as much foreground, middle and background detail as possible

Your honest opinion is welcomed thank you and in return you shall have mine.

I'm here on

Sriram from Chennai, India

Nicely framed and interesting POV.. good shot!

Apart from the polluted ''Drinking'' water, it looks a nice place. The colours are lovely as is the curved bay.

Inviting at first glance, yet the details and colours seem strange when looking more carefully into the image... superb composition and great document Pete!

excellent composition and yes - intriguing colours! the green tinge to the water is quite different and it almost has a "nuclear" glow to it as you said yourself ;-) nice work!

Great composition - I like the semi-circular line of shore that directs our viewing of the image, it draws the eye into the frame, and then around it. Good work.

What a beautiful image.

I would think that seeing green water would be a sight.

Beautiful view, and I agree: the color of the algae on the sand is suspicious :)
